MAKSWIP Darts Tournament 2010 - The SC 'B' Story

This year I was chosen to be the captain of Team SC 'B' whereas Team SC 'A' is lead by Raman@Gigo. Two days before the game, Raman discussed with coach on the preferable line-up for each team before facing our opponents within our own selected groups. I couldn't join the discussion as I were accompanying my wife for her appointment at PUSRAWI hospital.

Anyway here are the team members of :

SC 'A'

Raman, Naza, Zachrain, Jaswan,Nordin, Asmadi, Raja Nasir and ZamD

SC 'B'

Myself, Mahathir (Det), Hasim, Shaiful, ZamS, Radza, KamBo and Otai

And so it begins.......

My group consists of four teams and the other three organisations were BNM 'B', KESWI and DBKL. Here is the line-up that coach proposed for SC 'B'.

Foursome - Me, Det, Hasim, Shaiful

Single (1) - Shaiful

Double Men (1) - Me, Radza/KamBo

Single (2) - ZamS

Double Men (2) - Det, Hasim

With these line-up, we won the first match with BNM 'B' surprisingly at score of 5-0 matches and straight sets. The next match would be with KESWI and again we won all matches however they gave a good fight which enables them to steal 2 sets from SC 'B'.

The third match was a valuable experience for us SC 'B', the fight against team DBKL who annihilated us with straight sets.It was certainly a psychological war and all of us knew how strong DBKL in MAKSWIP Darts Tournamanet. Our lost somehow made the team's confidence in an uneven state for the next match.

With two wins and a lost 'battle', SC 'B' qualifies for the knockout round which is the first time in SC history since the first participation in MAKSWIP. And our first opponent was PPUM and somehow also the last match for us in MAKSWIP 2010. Sad but true, we tried our best and yet SC 'B" had good team spirit. Our losses especially to DBKL gave us a new determination for next years MAKSWIP.

Hopefully SC 'B' will create another history next year and congratulations to our team sibling SC 'A' for achieving third in this year's MAKSWIP. Another excellent record added to SC's dart history.

36th MOF GAMES (Darts) - Last Day

Today SC meets MOF to decide who will be the worthy team to become 3rd in the 36th MOF Games Dart Tournament. Coach has decided the best line-up SC has and here are the names:
Foursome

Yeo, Zam-D, Nordin, Radza

SingleNaza (in blue)

Men's Double Raman & Raja Nasir

Mix Double

Girija & Zaharin (red shirt with stripes)

Veteran & Executive Double

Madi & Jaswan

The SC's foursome won and that winning streak moves on to our single player Naza with another victory. Hoping that SC could close the deal at the third match however MOF repays back their revenge on our double men and mix double. And the tie breaker is left with the veteran and executive double match.

Everyone was full of tense and anxiety as both teams tried their best to get that winning check number till it was a double set. At the end with the help of Jaswan's single dart check the SC won and the 3rd rank remains with them.

Well done team!

36th MOF GAMES (Darts) - Second Day

Team SC and its sibling Team KWSP (EPF)

Our determination to win was high and all of us brought out the best within ourselves against the BNM team. The whole line-up was re-arrange with me being in the foursome team whereas only mix double remains the same. And the end of it all, we manage to qualify ourselves in the semi finals after eliminating BNM with a score of 5-0 matches.

We would also like to thank our team sibling EPF for their win against LHDN that enforces the SC's ranking into the semi finals. And the final 'check' that made it all happen was from Abang Roslan EPF during his veteran-executive match. All of us felt the suspense every time each members of each team tried to check the winning number on the dartboard.
The SC team qualified for semi finals.

The SC team ranked 3rd out of 8 teams last year and we hope to go up a few ranks or maintain the third spot for this year. Our afternoon match was with KASTAM (very well known and strong team) from Group A and unfortunately we lost to them which only entitled us for the 3rd or 4th spot.

Tomorrow's match with MOF team (lost to EPF team during SC's match against KASTAM) from Group A will determine our team's standing in the MOF Games Dart Tournament.

36th MOF GAMES (Darts) - First Day

SC was part of Group B in the Dart Tournament under the 36th MOF Games. Other organizations that were part of the group are LHDN, BNM and KWSP. And our first game for the morning was the sibling rivalry between SC and KWSP.
We do not do well during the foursome, single and double men matches however SC's mix double plus the veteran-executive double manage to lift up the winning spirit among team members.
We lost to KWSP with a score of 2 - 3 matches but it still not over yet.
During lunch time, the SC team had a discussion and decided to maintain the mix and veteran-executive double line-up. Foursome and men double was changed hoping that we could somehow improve our overall game. All of us wonder why our 'killer' could not perform during his single match with KWSP's single player. Coach gave a second chance and he was chosen again for the single category against LHDN.
As usual most of us hope that the new line-up will show some improvement and yet SC only won the double men match against LHDN. I could imagine the thoughts that linger around coach and players mind after we lost to LHDN with a score of 1-4 matches.
I played in the veteran-executive double for both matches and I still wonder was it fatigue or the ache knees that made me lost with LHDN. Oh well....everybody wins and losses at a certain time.
The team made some calculations and the only way for SC to make it to the semi-finals is by winning tomorrow's match with BNM with a score of 4-1 matches with straight sets or 5-0 matches.
Hope lady luck is on our side for the match with BNM.
